Grenke boosts group profit in first half of 2026 by 24% thanks to better cost control

Grenke reported a group profit of €32.6m for H1 2026 (up 24.4%) and an operating result of €353m (up 11%). Operating expenses rose by only 1.5%, bringing the cost-income ratio down to 51.6%. New leasing business grew to €1.6bn, the US business doubled, and total assets stood at €9.2bn. Grenke reports lower new leasing business and shrinking margin in second quarter

Grenke’s new leasing business fell 1% year-on-year in Q2 to €858.5m, and the contribution margin dropped 1.5 percentage points to 15.6%. The loss ratio rose from 1.7% to 2.1%, yet group profit increased to €17.1m (+7%). CEO Sebastian Hirsch confirmed the annual guidance: new leasing business is expected to climb to €3.4–3.6bn and net profit to rise to €74–86m.
