Havila Kystruten cuts 2026 EBITDA forecast to around NOK 500m despite strong Q2
Havila Kystruten reported Q2 EBITDA of NOK 98m (+24.1%), record utilization of 83% and on-board revenue growth of 33%. Nevertheless, management lowered the 2026 EBITDA forecast to around NOK 500m, citing higher fuel costs and geopolitical uncertainties. Bookings for 2027 are developing very well, and the long-term EBITDA target of NOK 600–800m remains unchanged. Havila Kystruten publishes figures for the quarter ending 30 June 2026; analyst consensus sees EPS of 0.53 NOK versus -15.90 NOK a year earlier. For the quarter, average revenue of 498.5 million NOK is expected, an increase of about 490 percent compared with the year-ago period. Havila tops Nabu environmental ranking for cruises — industry lags on phasing out heavy fuel oil
The nature conservation organization Nabu has published an environmental ranking for cruise lines in which Havila ranks first with 7.5 points. Factors evaluated included the avoidance of heavy fuel oil, use of shore power, NOx catalytic converters and climate-efficiency measures; only four of twelve operators completely exclude heavy fuel oil. Nabu criticizes that many companies are falling behind in switching to climate-neutral fuels and that investments in genuine decarbonization are rare.
