Howden Joinery appoints Barclays for second £50m tranche of buyback programme
Howden Joinery has appointed Barclays to execute the second tranche of its £50 million share buyback programme. The company had announced buybacks of up to £100 million within 12 months; the first tranche was executed on 3 June 2026 by Deutsche Numis. Barclays may acquire up to 53,903,751 shares as riskless principal by no later than 31 December 2026 and may also purchase during closed trading periods; purchases will be made in accordance with the current buyback authority and the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority. Howden Joinery reports half-year results in line with expectations
Howden Joinery posted H1 revenue of £1,030.6m (+3.3%) and adjusted profit before tax of £122.2m (+4.3%), slightly above consensus expectations. Gross margin rose 70 basis points to 62.8%, supported by a 2% price increase, volume growth and manufacturing cost savings of £8m. Management says it is on track to meet consensus forecasts for 2026 but expects headwinds from cost inflation of £40m and higher inventory costs due to more expensive timber in H2. Howden Joinery begins buyback of shares worth up to £50 million
Howden Joinery has appointed Deutsche Bank to execute the first tranche of a share buyback programme of up to £50 million; the buyback starts immediately and will run at the latest until 31 December 2026. The measure represents the first half of a planned £100 million 2026 programme that the company announced alongside its 2025 annual results.
