Italgas shares rose 3.1% to €10.55 after Citi upgraded its recommendation from "Neutral" to "Buy" and raised the 12‑month price target from €10.00 to €11.60. Citi cited accelerated tenders for gas distribution networks in 2026 and improved synergies from the acquisition of 2i Rete Gas, which makes Italgas the largest gas network operator in Europe. Snam Rete has completed the refinancing of its €500 million convertible bond (maturity 2028), which is secured by Italgas shares, and repurchased 98.9% of the issue. The position was replaced by a five-year green bond maturing in 2031. Italgas reported a 31.1% increase in adjusted net profit for the first half of 2025 to €316.6m following the early consolidation of 2i Rete Gas. Adjusted total revenues rose 29.2% to €1,126.7m and EBITDA increased 27.8% to €857.5m; operating cash flows covered €495.1m of investments. The takeover expanded the network by 86% to over 156,000 km and the customer base to around 12.9 million; Italgas confirmed its full-year guidance and is targeting synergies of up to €200m.
