Křetínský woos Uniper with charm offensive in Berlin
Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský and his EP group have made an offer for Uniper and launched a communications campaign in Berlin to be perceived as a reliable investor. Representatives stress experience with German holdings such as Leag and Metro, maintain political and union contacts, and are targeting a 75 percent stake with synergies in gas trading, power plants and storage. In addition to the EP group, RWE with KKR, a Canadian consortium and Equinor are competing in the sale; the federal government currently holds 99.12 percent and must relinquish its majority by the end of 2028. The Uniper works council expresses skepticism toward strategic buyers from abroad. » More on wiwo.de
Government plans privatization of Uniper – RWE, financial investors and Křetínský interested

Interested buyers reportedly include RWE, various financial investors and the controversial Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský, while the works council has expressed concern. The gas storage facilities are not sufficiently filled ahead of winter; Uniper was previously rescued with billions from the state after Russia halted deliveries. » More on sueddeutsche.de
Uniper sale: Equinor and consortium with Brookfield/CPPIB seen as promising bidders
The state plans to sell its 99 percent stake in Uniper; several interested parties have submitted non-binding offers. Equinor and a consortium of Brookfield and CPPIB are considered the strongest challengers to RWE and KKR, and EPH is also said to have placed a bid. An entry by Equinor could strategically complement Uniper’s gas supply and trading, but political concerns could give RWE an advantage. » More on deraktionaer.de
