Kazia Therapeutics announces capital raise of about $40m, shares fall
Kazia Therapeutics said it will sell 2,580,000 ADS at $15.50 each, expecting gross proceeds of around $40m before fees. In addition, series A and series B warrants are being offered, the exercise of which could generate a further roughly $80m; exercise conditions are tied to the release of clinical trial data for certain breast cancer subtypes. The funds are intended primarily to finance the clinical development of lead candidate Paxalisib and to provide working capital. The offering, accompanied by Leerink Partners, Guggenheim, BTIG and Needham, is expected to close around August 31, 2026; the ADRs fell about 6.2% in premarket trading. » More on de.investing.com
Kazia: Paxalisib shows high response rate in metastatic triple-negative breast cancer
In an ongoing phase 1b study of Paxalisib in combination with pembrolizumab and chemotherapy, six evaluable patients with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer derived clinical benefit. Five of the six patients achieved an objective response (1 complete, 4 partial remissions; objective response rate 83%), and the remaining patient had disease stabilization; responses occurred about three months after randomization and involved, among others, lung, liver, bone, lymph node and CNS lesions. Marked median reductions in circulating tumor cell clusters (83%) and terminally exhausted T cells (51%) were observed, without serious adverse events attributed to Paxalisib. Recruitment is expected to continue until July 2027, with interim results announced for 2026 and 2027. » More on de.investing.com
