Kruk rises after Citi upgrades to 'Buy' — shares climb despite profit miss
Kruk's shares rose about 2.3% after Citi upgraded its rating to 'Buy' and called the valuation attractive (expected P/E 7.3, dividend yield 5.8%). In the first quarter, net profit was 4% below consensus and 17% below Citi's forecast, driven by lower revenues from weaker revaluation gains and higher court and tax costs. KRUK reports record cash EBITDA and 12% higher collections in Q1–Q3 2025
KRUK published unaudited results for Q1–Q3 2025 with a record cash EBITDA of PLN 2,007m (+13%) and collections from purchased portfolios of PLN 2,921m (+12%). Net profit fell to PLN 877m, down 9% year‑on‑year, while the carrying value of the receivables portfolio rose 15% to PLN 11.2bn. Investments in portfolios declined 13% to PLN 1,427m; operational efficiency improved and the operating cost ratio fell to 22%. Kruk SA published Q2 2025 figures showing a slight decline in net profit of 3% to PLN 584m, but achieved a record cash EBITDA of PLN 1.3bn in the first half and a return on equity of 22%. Management announced a strategic realignment with withdrawal from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany, increased investments in digital transformation, and planned market expansion into France, the UK and the US.
