Lanxess rises 8.69% after MWB buy recommendation

LANXESS places five-year €500 million bond with 4.375% coupon
LANXESS has issued a five-year bond of €500 million with a 4.375% coupon; the order book was several times oversubscribed. The proceeds will be used for general corporate financing and to repay a €500 million bond maturing in October 2026. Lanxess rules out short-term asset sales and capital increase after Envalior withdrawal
CFO Oliver Stratmann said at the virtual annual general meeting that Lanxess sees no immediate pressure to carry out short-term asset sales and currently does not plan a capital increase. The group stresses it is solidly financed for the long term and has unused credit lines of €1.3 billion. The withdrawal of financial investor Advent from the Envalior deal cost about €1.2 billion and led to a downgrade by Moody's; Lanxess aims to return to investment grade.
