Magellan Financial reports weaker core figures after merger, shares fall sharply

In fiscal 2026, the first full year after the merger with Barrenjoey, Magellan Financial recorded an 11% decline in standalone revenue to AUD 291 million and a 47% drop in statutory net profit to AUD 88 million, while operating profit after tax fell to AUD 145 million. Barrenjoey contributed strong growth: operating profit after tax +68% to AUD 112 million, pro‑forma group revenue of AUD 778 million and operating profit after tax of AUD 215 million.
