Marshalls H1 operating profit up as revenue flat and net debt falls

Marshalls reported broadly flat first-half revenue of £380m while operating profit rose 8% to £30.7m and profit before tax increased 13% to £24.9m, supported mainly by improved margins and cost cuts in Landscaping Products. Pre-IFRS 16 net debt fell to £137m, with leverage at 1.7x EBITDA and cash conversion of 98%. The group remains on track to deliver £11m of annualised savings by end-2026 and reiterated its medium-term pathway to £112m operating profit, but flagged continued subdued end markets and a cautious outlook for the second half.
