Mitsui Chemicals: specialty chemicals withstand headwinds, stock to split 2-for-1

Mitsui Chemicals reported a 9% decline in revenue to ¥813.6 billion for the first half of fiscal 2025 and a drop in net income attributable to owners to ¥7.8 billion. Operating profit before special items fell 16% to ¥44.5 billion, while the specialty chemicals segment — supported by demand from semiconductor and eyewear materials — slightly increased operating profit by 1% to ¥56.8 billion. Losses in Basic & Green Materials and special items, including an impairment of ¥12.4 billion, weighed on results.
