Nippon Paint raises full-year sales forecast after strong Q2

Nippon Paint reported Q2 sales of 133.4 billion JPY (+19.4%), adjusted operating profit of 9.49 billion JPY (+30.4%) and adjusted EPS of 29.4 JPY (+31.7%). The company raised its sales forecast for 2026 from 1.92 trillion JPY to 2.0 trillion JPY, but left the adjusted operating profit forecast unchanged. Management warned of weak demand in China and expects margin pressure in the second half of the year, and plans to acquire a European automotive coatings business and to reorganize the group in Japan.
