Australia loosens rules for psilocybin and MDMA therapies - implications for Optimi Health
The Therapeutic Goods Administration has expanded the Authorized Prescriber program: psychiatrists may prescribe MDMA for PTSD and psilocybin for treatment‑resistant depression, treatment teams may additionally include registered therapists, counsellors, social workers or Aboriginal health practitioners, and treatment sites have been broadened to medically supervised facilities with defined safety standards. Prescribing psychiatrists must be physically present during drug administration, and treatment sites require secure storage, trained staff and rapid access to emergency care. Reimbursement has been extended to public payers and private insurers; no serious adverse events have been reported since December 2025. Optimi Health, a manufacturer of MDMA and psilocybin products, is mentioned; the stock is trading near its 52‑week low after an 82% drop over six months. » More on de.investing.com
