Pet Valu lowers annual guidance after strong margin compression in Q1 2026

Pet Valu reported Q1 2026 revenue of $288m (+3%) with flat same-store sales, but saw gross margin and adjusted EBITDA margin each decline by 160 basis points. Adjusted EBITDA fell to $55.9m and adjusted EPS dropped to $0.31, while higher promotional activity, rising operating costs and depreciation weighed on profitability.
