Piraeus Financial Holdings issues green senior preferred bond of €500m

Piraeus Financial Holdings has announced a green senior preferred bond of €500m with a six-year maturity and a five-year call option. The initial price guidance is around 125 basis points over the mid-swap rate. Deutsche Bank is acting as stabilization coordinator, with several banks serving as stabilization managers; the stabilization period ends no later than 30 December 2025. Piraeus Financial Holdings raises guidance for loan growth in 2025

Piraeus Financial Holdings reported a solid Q3 with net income of €261m and a return on tangible equity of 13.8%. The bank raised its 2025 loan growth guidance from €3bn to over €3.5bn after already achieving €3.1bn in the first nine months. Net interest income met expectations, loan margins fell by 3 basis points, and net interest income is expected to rise by 1% quarter-on-quarter in Q4 (assuming ECB policy rate at 2%). Piraeus Financial Holdings benefits from Moody’s upgrade of subordinated bonds

Moody’s has raised the rating for subordinated bonds of Piraeus Financial Holdings and its MTN program from Ba2 to Ba1. The rating agency cited lower expected losses for creditors and a strong buffer of bail-inable liabilities as reasons for the upgrade.
