Rakuten reportedly receives ÂĄ150 billion subsidy for satellite network
The Japanese government plans to grant a consortium led by Rakuten a subsidy of ¥150 billion (about USD 926 million) to develop a satellite communications network in low Earth orbit. The funding, to be paid out over three years, will cover equipment procurement and the build-out of ground infrastructure; partner is the U.S. company AST SpaceMobile.
