Carlos Ghosn fails to appear at corruption trial in Paris; case concerns Renault
Former Renault-Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn, charged with corruption and exerting influence, did not show up for the opening of the trial in Paris and was not represented by a lawyer. Ghosn is accused of paying around €900,000 between 2010 and 2012 from a Dutch subsidiary of Allianz to former MEP Rachida Dati; there is suspicion of lobbying for the company. Renault Scenic E‑Tech: model update brings more range, faster charging and Google Gemini
Renault has revised the Scenic E‑Tech and will offer two battery options: an 89‑kWh NMC for up to 632 km WLTP and a 67‑kWh LFP with up to 459 km range. Charging power has been increased (up to 150 kW and 165 kW) and charging times from 15 to 80 percent cut to around 28 and 24 minutes, respectively. Also new are Google Gemini as an AI voice assistant, expanded infotainment and driver‑assist functions, and a starting price of €37,590; the model is available exclusively as an electric vehicle. » More on heise.de
Moody’s raises Renault rating to Baa3 and points to stronger balance sheet
Moody’s has raised Renault’s credit rating to Baa3 with a stable outlook and withdrawn previously assigned Ba1 ratings and the Ba1-PD. Senior unsecured notes and EMTN programmes were also upgraded to Baa3, and short-term ratings were improved to P-3. The agency cited a stronger balance sheet, sustainable free-cash-flow generation, an adjusted net cash position of around €5.6bn (June 2026), high liquid funds and unused credit lines; additionally, the French state’s 15% stake mitigates downside risks. » More on de.investing.com
