ROHTO Pharmaceutical raises operating profit thanks to strong Asia business

ROHTO Pharmaceutical reported an operating result of ¥7.5 billion for Q4, 4.1% above Jefferies’ forecasts but 8.9% below the ¥8.4 billion consensus. Consolidated revenue rose 9.6% and operating profit increased 8.1%, with an operating margin of 8.3% (down 0.1 percentage points). Strong brand performance and regional growth contributed: Hada Labo +14%, Melano CC +4.9%, Obagi +16.2%; Japan grew in the high single digits, China in the low single digits, Hong Kong in the mid single digits, Indonesia in the high double digits and Vietnam in the mid double digits.
