Southern Cross Media reported for the fiscal year to 30 June 2026 a revenue decline of 4.4% to AUD 1.87 billion and a net profit decline of 58% to AUD 9.9 million, weighed down by weak TV and audio advertising markets. Southern Cross Media Group shows weak ROE and unsustainable dividend payout
Southern Cross Media Group's shares have fallen about 18% in three months as fundamentals lag: trailing ROE is 3.0% versus a 4.7% industry average and five‑year net income has declined 48%. The company recorded a last‑twelve‑month payout ratio near 150%, funding dividends beyond its earnings despite a decade of payouts. Analysts expect the payout ratio to fall to about 36% and project ROE rising to around 16% over the next three years, but current metrics signal limited organic earnings growth and warrant caution. » More on finance.yahoo.com
