Lazio Women must pay compensation after CAS finds contract ended due to pregnancy
The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled Lazio Women unlawfully ended Maja Göthberg’s employment after she disclosed her pregnancy and ordered the club to pay compensation. CAS applied FIFA’s enhanced 2024 maternity regulations in a landmark decision—the first time CAS found a club had ended a relationship because of pregnancy even though no final contract was signed. The court also found Lazio breached confidentiality by informing teammates of Göthberg’s pregnancy and awarded additional compensation for that violation. » More on theguardian.com
