Südzucker posts profit again after cost cuts and higher ethanol prices
Südzucker recorded a net profit of €61 million in the first half of 2026/27 after a prior-year loss of €60 million. CEO Niels Pörksen reported initial efficiency gains and confirmed the raised targets for the year: revenue of €8.3–8.7 billion and an EBITDA target of €540–680 million. The share briefly fell about 4.7% to €11.82. » More on finanzen.net
Südzucker raises EBITDA through biofuel unit, sugar unit remains loss-making
Südzucker confirms its forecast for 2026/27 and reports a slightly lower sales volume of €4.19 billion for the first half, with EBITDA rising by over 60% to €303 million and profit after tax of €61 million. The driver was biofuel subsidiary CropEnergies, whose EBITDA climbed to €68 million due to sharply higher fuel prices. The sugar segment remains weighed down with an EBITDA of minus €24 million, as sugar prices continued to fall and capacity underutilization caused idle costs; recovery depends on later price pass-through. » More on finanzen.net
