Synthomer sells acrylate monomer division in the Czech Republic to Mutares

Synthomer has agreed to sell Synthomer a.s., the acrylate monomer business in Sokolov (Czech Republic), to private-equity firm Mutares. The division, with around 300 employees, supplies the European market with acrylic acid and monomers; existing supply agreements with group companies will remain in place after the sale. Moody's downgrades Synthomer to B3 and affirms negative outlook

Moody’s cut Synthomer’s long-term rating from B2 to B3 and left the outlook negative. The agency cited weak demand in Europe, weak credit metrics and expected negative free cash flow for 2025 and 2026 as reasons for the downgrade.
