Telstra to cut 209 jobs as AI rollout and $700m Accenture JV shifts work offshore

Telstra will eliminate about 209 roles as it implements AI capabilities and moves some work to a new $700m joint venture with Accenture, including using a specialist hub in India. The company says the JV and Accenture’s AI expertise will accelerate its data and AI roadmap, drive cost efficiencies and improve customer experience. Affected staff will be offered redeployment at Telstra or Accenture, or access to career transition and retrenchment support.
