TPG Telecom: strong half-year results lift stock and interim dividend

TPG Telecom’s stock rose about 4% to A$3.67 after the company reported strong half-year results. Net profit from continuing operations grew 9.4% to A$35m, EBITDA increased 1% to A$821m, while revenue fell slightly 1% to A$2.425bn. Drivers included growth in the mobile business, lower financing costs and improved hardware margins; these were offset by higher costs from new fibre access agreements and losses among broadband fixed-line customers.
