Volvo adds connected hazard alerts to EX90, ES90 and EX60

Volvo is rolling out connected safety alerts to the EX90, ES90 and EX60 that warn drivers of large animals, vulnerable road users, roadwork and accidents by sharing vehicle-detected hazards via the cloud. The system uses sensor and camera detections from Volvo’s fleet across Europe, the US and Canada, logs hazard locations to Volvo servers and pushes alerts to other Volvo cars on the same road. Volvo says about 1 million vehicles already support connected safety, shares its data with traffic management centers and other brands, and continues to expand features such as Spatial Audio for Apple CarPlay on the EX90. » More on theverge.com
Volvo posts weaker second quarter, shares fall sharply

Volvo reports a 17% drop in revenue to SEK 77.7 billion in the second quarter and an operating profit of SEK 826 million, missing expectations. The number of cars sold fell by 6% and the stock dropped sharply after the figures. Strong North American business drives Volvo to profit leap

Volvo raises operating profit in the second quarter by 35% to around €1.22 billion, supported by more than doubled demand in the US and Canada.
