Air France convicted of negligent homicide in AF447 crash

A Paris appeals court found Air France guilty of negligent homicide in the appeal over the 2009 crash of flight AF447 and sentenced the company to a fine of €225,000. Airbus was equally convicted; the court held both firms solely responsible for the crash that killed 228 people. Causes included, according to the judges, an inadequate response to iced-over pitot probes and insufficient pilot training for extreme situations.
