The Arbeiterkammer analyzed 544 holiday complaints and reports that almost every second complaint concerned air travel, mostly changed flight times, baggage problems and unlawful extra fees at Ryanair. Ryanair ranked first with 191 mentions, followed by Booking.com (70) and Opodo (24); accommodation defects accounted for about 20 percent and problems with rental cars, trains, buses and ships about 12 percent of the complaints. Ryanair says it will dispute claims that any part of passenger Ljubisa Karović was pulled outside after a window shattered on a July flight, with CEO Michael O’Leary saying the man was “sucked towards” but not out of the opening. The NTSB is leading an investigation involving the aircraft manufacturer and engine maker, while Karović remains severely injured and his lawyer says he was partly pulled through the opening.
