Ryanair is closing its base in Berlin and plans to pull about 100 cockpit staff; the location was home to the only German works council in Ryanair’s flight operations. Pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit accuses the low-cost carrier of targeted union busting after the works council won a case at the Federal Labor Court in April and several members of the bargaining committee were dismissed during pay negotiations.
