Harley-Davidson rises after significant insider purchase by Daniel Nova
Harley-Davidson stock jumped intraday by about 5.7% after board member Daniel Nova bought 40,000 shares on July 31 at an average price of roughly $24.57 (about $983,000), thereby quintupling his direct holdings to 47,605 shares. The purchase was seen as a strong vote of confidence and coincided with stronger fundamentals: in Q2/2026 Harley-Davidson beat adjusted earnings expectations and raised its full-year forecast for global motorcycle sales and operating profit. Several analysts subsequently raised their price targets, and the insider buy pushed the stock noticeably above the broader market move toward the next resistance levels. » More on de.investing.com
S&P downgrades Harley-Davidson rating to BB+ due to margin pressure
S&P Global Ratings cut Harley-Davidson’s corporate and bond rating from BBB- to BB+ and expects adjusted EBITDA margin to reach only 5–6% in 2026. Harley’s “Back to Bricks” strategy includes lower-priced models (Sprint, Sportster) and $150 million in cost cuts; S&P points to a strong liquidity position—$1.8 billion in cash plus more than $2 billion in commercial paper programs—as the reason for a stable outlook. » More on de.investing.com
Harley-Davidson faces renewed anti-DEI campaign from activist Robby Starbuck
Robby Starbuck has relaunched his campaign accusing Harley-Davidson of backtracking on promises to remove 'woke' policies, targeting new CEO Artie Starrs and chief brand officer Marcus Fischer for past support of LGBTQ+ and antiracism initiatives. Starbuck, who led a 2024 boycott that prompted Harley-Davidson to roll back DEI programs, said he will release additional allegations and is calling on loyal customers to abandon the brand. Analysts warn the renewed attacks could distract management and complicate the company's turnaround under its new leadership. » More on finance.yahoo.com
