Corruption trial against Siegfried Wolf burdens Porsche Automobil Holding
In Vienna the trial against industrialist and supervisory board member Siegfried Wolf has begun. The WKStA accuses him of having in 2018 obtained a tax waiver of around €630,000 by promising career assistance; he is charged with bribery and incitement to abuse of office. Wolf, who sits on the supervisory board of Porsche Automobil Holding, denies the allegations; investigators cite, among other things, chat messages. An earlier tax waiver had already been annulled by administrative courts as unlawful. » More on manager-magazin.de
Porsche bets on luxury offensive with new supersports car Mission S
Porsche unveiled the supersports car Mission S in New York and CEO Michael Leiters outlined a strategy to sell fewer but more expensive vehicles. The goal is to raise the share of particularly pricey luxury models from about one third to nearly half and to increase the average price of the top 10,000 cars from €270,000 to €330,000 by 2030; plans include a new mid-engine platform, a potential larger SUV and at least one brand-defining product each year. Analysts praise the direction, but it remains unclear whether customers will accept the higher prices. » More on deraktionaer.de
Porsche presents Mission S concept and signals expansion of high-margin models
Porsche presents the Mission S, a design-focused electric concept that emphasizes classic design elements and shows technological openness, for example by forgoing a fixed center display in favor of a retractable MagSafe smartphone system. This comes against the backdrop of the “Sportwagenschmiede ’35” strategy, under which Porsche aims to sell fewer cars with higher margins, while management expects another challenging year for 2027. » More on heise.de
