VW agrees to talks with IG Metall on corporate restructuring
IG Metall invokes a clause of the future collective agreement to review with VW whether promised investments, new models and modern production processes are being met. Volkswagen said it was willing to hold the talks, while pointing to fundamentally changed economic conditions that require adjustments to the measures agreed at the end of 2024. The board and supervisory board have adopted a "future plan" that envisages, among other things, an operating return on sales of nine percent by 2030 and up to 50,000 additional job cuts worldwide; the future of several German plants remains uncertain. » More on heise.de

The management board and supervisory board recently adopted a tougher savings plan and a future strategy that foresees up to 50,000 jobs worldwide being cut and unclear prospects for four plants. » More on finanzen.net

He recommends a partnership solution for Cariad instead of complete in‑house development, and he favors a partial placement of Traton rather than a full sale. Property sales should be assessed case by case; according to Pieper, Volkswagen Bank should remain part of the core. » More on n-tv.de
