Renault announces more than €10 billion in investments in France for electric cars
Renault will invest over €10 billion in France over the next five years, mainly in electric vehicles and cheaper models. Chief executive François Provost said the spending requires a permissive social and political environment. Carlos Ghosn fails to appear at corruption trial in Paris; case concerns Renault
Former Renault-Nissan chief Carlos Ghosn, charged with corruption and exerting influence, did not show up for the opening of the trial in Paris and was not represented by a lawyer. Ghosn is accused of paying around €900,000 between 2010 and 2012 from a Dutch subsidiary of Allianz to former MEP Rachida Dati; there is suspicion of lobbying for the company.
