BHP Group to cut 750 jobs in Queensland coal division
According to media reports, BHP Group will cut 750 positions in its coal division in Queensland. The reason is persistently low coal prices and high state royalties; Newcastle coal futures recently traded at just under $100 per tonne. As part of the restructuring, the Saraji South mine will be closed in November and the FutureFit Academy may be discontinued. BHP sets final dividend of 60 US cents per share
BHP Group Limited announced a final dividend of 60 US cents per share for the fiscal year ended 30 June 2025; for shareholders on the South African register an exchange rate of 17.62563 applies, equivalent to a gross payment of 1,057.53780 South African cents and, after 20% withholding tax, a net payment of 846.03024 South African cents. BHP Billiton Finance files prospectus for €20 billion euro MTN programme
BHP Billiton Finance Limited has published a prospectus approved by the UK FCA for a €20 billion euro medium-term note programme, which also names BHP Billiton Finance Plc and BHP Group Limited as guarantor. The programme establishes a framework for future euro-denominated debt issuances in European markets; the offer is directed only at eligible persons in certain jurisdictions and is not registered for sale in the US, Canada, Japan or Australia.
