Synthomer raises full-year forecast after stronger half-year – shares jump double digits

Synthomer reported first-half revenue rising to GBP 954 million (+6.7%) and EBITDA up 13% with an EBITDA margin of 10.1%. Management raised the 2026 EBITDA guidance to around GBP 162 million and expects positive free cash flow for the full year, supported by divestments, refinancings and lower capital expenditure. Synthomer records stronger momentum in second quarter thanks to Iran war

Synthomer reports improved business performance in the second quarter of 2026, largely supported by changed trading conditions as a result of the Iran war. For fiscal year 2025 the company reports revenue of £1,739m and EBITDA of £136.5m; the margin rose to 7.8% and net debt stands at £575m (4.7x EBITDA). Synthomer: CFO Lily Liu to leave, Iain Torrens to become interim CFO

Finance director Lily Liu will leave Synthomer at the end of May to become Executive Vice President and CFO at Umicore. Iain Torrens will take up the role of interim CFO and executive director from 15 May; the board is considering internal and external candidates for a permanent successor.
