Xenon prepares NDA submission for Azetukalner, plans specialized sales team
Xenon said at the Wells Fargo Healthcare Conference that it plans to file the New Drug Application (NDA) for Azetukalner later this month and expects all four doses (10, 15, 20, 25 mg) to be included in the prescribing information. The company intends a premium pricing strategy with a single price across all strengths and is building a commercial team of about 150 employees, including a field force of roughly 75, to reduce market access barriers. Xenon emphasized the novel Kv7 mechanism of action but anticipates a slow, stepwise launch pattern for epilepsy products; global approval plans will be supported by the ongoing Phase III X‑TOLE3 study. In parallel, Xenon is advancing programs in depression (X‑NOVA) and NaV1.7 pain, and aims to have a fully integrated commercial biopharma structure by the end of 2027. » More on de.investing.com
Xenon Pharmaceuticals presents phase‑3 and long‑term data on epilepsy drug Azetukalner at epilepsy congress
Xenon Pharmaceuticals will present six Azetukalner presentations at the 16th European Epilepsy Congress (5–9 September 2026, Athens), including an oral presentation of the phase‑3 X-TOLE2 study in focal onset seizures. The data include results from the randomized, double‑blind, placebo‑controlled X-TOLE2 (380 participants; Azetukalner 25 mg or 15 mg vs. placebo) and findings from patients with at least 48 months of participation in the open‑label extension. In addition, mechanistic posters will show data on possible additive effects in combination with common antiseizure medications and in‑vivo evidence; Azetukalner is a potassium channel opener in development for epilepsy, major depressive disorder and bipolar depression. » More on de.investing.com
