RBC Capital Markets has downgraded Dow from “Outperform” to “Sector Perform” and cut the price target from $51 to $28. The decision is justified by expected weakening polyethylene prices, a structural oversupply and weak demand, and the burden of the costly cracker project in Alberta, which could require around $6 billion in net capital. Dow and Univar Solutions signed a long-term agreement to distribute Dow's Decarbia low-carbon product portfolio through Univar's global network. The offering includes high-integrity Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) certificates and targets industries such as beauty, personal care, food and pharmaceuticals.
