DSM-Firmenich opens office in Jakarta and expands plant in Karawang

DSM-Firmenich is expanding its presence in Indonesia: the new Jakarta office brings together the teams for Taste, Texture & Health, Perfumery & Beauty and Health, Nutrition & Care. At the same time, the production site in Karawang was expanded with drying equipment and additional blending capacity for culinary products. The plant runs entirely on renewable electricity; electric heating systems are expected to reduce CO2 emissions by around 300 tonnes per year, and heat recovery should cut energy consumption by about 16 percent. DSM-Firmenich starts collaboration with AI start-up Boltz on biomolecular modeling

DSM-Firmenich has agreed a partnership with AI start-up Boltz to integrate Boltz’s proprietary base models into the discovery of new ingredients. The AI models will be combined with DSM-Firmenich’s database of taste and smell receptors to predict and design molecular structures. Inge Massen-Biemans becomes chief sustainability officer at DSM-Firmenich

Inge Massen-Biemans will assume the role of chief sustainability officer at DSM-Firmenich on 1 November 2026, succeeding Katharina Stenholm, who will leave the company at the end of 2026. Massen-Biemans has been with the company for 25 years, is currently vice president Nutrition, Health & Social Impact, and previously worked in Corporate & Public Affairs.
