OCI Global plans tie-up with Orascom Construction and expansion in infrastructure
OCI Global announced a strategic tie-up with Orascom Construction to create a new infrastructure and investment platform based in Abu Dhabi and to expand its engineering capabilities. The company estimates the Beaumont clean-ammonia project will cost $1.7 billion and aims to complete the tie-up in the first half of Q1 2026. OCI emphasizes sustainable returns from infrastructure investments, cites net debt of $59 million, and has returned $7 billion to shareholders over the past four years. Risks include integrating Orascom, completing large projects on time and on budget, and regulatory and macroeconomic factors. » More on de.investing.com
OCI NV slips into a loss in Q2 2025 — gas prices and maintenance weigh
OCI NV reports an attributable net loss of 331 million USD for Q2 2025 (EPS -1.57 USD) on revenue from continuing operations of 567 million USD. Results were hit by sharply higher European natural gas prices, maintenance costs and operational disruptions; EBITDA in the European nitrogen segment fell significantly. After hours the share fell 6.93%. OCI completed the sale of the methanol business (retaining a 13% stake in Methanex) and is continuing a strategic review of its European nitrogen assets; the target is a normalized mid-cycle EBITDA of 130–150 million USD, and first ammonia from Beaumont is expected by the end of 2025. » More on de.investing.com
OCI continues strategic restructuring after divestments and explores merger with Orascom Construction
OCI reports mixed H1 2025 results: revenue from continuing operations rose to $567 million, but adjusted EBITDA in the European Nitrogen segment fell to $21 million due to margin pressure and higher input costs. After several major disposals (including MetCo to Methanex), OCI has reduced net debt to zero and maintained a strong cash position despite high shareholder distributions. The Beaumont New Ammonia project is 97% complete; a strategic review of European assets is underway, and a potential merger with Orascom Construction is being considered as a key future scenario. » More on de.investing.com
