XBiotech starts phase II study of vilamakitug in active axial spondyloarthritis

The FDA has cleared the IND for V‑SPINE (PT064) without a clinical hold, allowing XBiotech to begin the randomized, double‑blind, placebo‑controlled phase II study in the US. 150 participants are planned to receive 400 mg vilamakitug as 16 weekly subcutaneous injections or placebo; the primary endpoint is ASAS40 response at week 16.
